SWTOR PvP Season 6 “Great Pirate Hunt” runs from Wednesday, May 29th, 2024, to Tuesday, September 17th, 2024. Here’s a complete list and overview of all the rewards you can earn!
PvP Seasons only pertain to a portion of content in SWTOR while being shorter and more frequent thanGalactic Seasons, so there are fewer new rewards per PvP Season compared to Galactic Seasons.
This shouldn’t discourage you from participating because the PvP Seasons Tokens can be used to purchase past Ranked PvP rewards, which tend to be a lot cooler thanwhat you can buy with Galactic Seasons tokens.
If you want more information onhow PvP Seasons work in SWTOR, check out the dedicated guide on that topic.
PvP Season 6 and Future Seasons Are Longer
Broadsword has decided to make a few changes to the PvP Seasons schedule to synchronize them with the major updates (7.5, 7.6, 7.7, etc.), while Galactic Seasons remain synchronized with the minor updates (7.5.1, 7.6.1, 7.7.1, etc.).
Specific Changes
Here’s the raw numbers for how PvP Seasons will work going forward:
- PvP Seasons will now last 16 weeks (up from 12) | 4 months (up from 3).
- The PvP Season rewards track will now have 30 levels (up from 25), though some of the rewards are just diluted so that there is only ever 1 reward per level, and 2 of the early levels just give 5 Warzone Medpacs or Adrenals.
- The number of points required to reach level 30 is 9000 (up from 7000) | 300 points per level (up from 280).
- PvP Season achievement requirements remain unchanged.
We really aren’t getting anything more in each reward track. The only additional thing is 5 additional free, legacy-bound (!) Warzone Medpacs and Adrenals, so it will take more time to finish the PvP Season rewards track to get effectively the same rewards.
Mathematically, you’ll need to do roughly the same amount of PvP each week in order to complete the rewards track (~563 points per week, down from ~583). However, because the achievement requirements remain unchanged, you don’t need to complete both PvP weeklies once a week, so the 8 PvP Seasons Tokens + Title will be far more attainable.
Why make PvP Seasons longer
The benefit of longer seasons is that they increase the number of players queueing. More players log into the game after an update and are more likely to be enticed by the PvP Season rewards if they feel attainable.
If you just logged back into the game after an update, would you be more likely to participate if the current PvP Season was halfway over, requiring you to pay an obscene amount of credits to catch up? Or would you be more interested if there’s a brand new season right now?
PvP seasons are far easier to advertise and predict when synchronized with major updates too. The devs can show off all of the neat rewards available from the next PvP Season during their pre-update livestream and tell them it’s going to start at the same time as other content they’re interested in.
Finally, the lack of overlap between PvP and Galactic Seasons will make both less grueling. You’ll have a 2-month break in between the end of each PvP Season and the beginning of the next Galactic Season and a 1-month break (at least) before the next PvP Season begins.
New Armor Sets from Season 6
There are four color variants of a brand-new armor set. Both of the green/gold versions can be obtained from the PvP Season rewards track, while the blue single-word versions are purchasable for 6PvP Season Tokens (each item) from the Evocii PvP Seasons vendor named Tullek in the Combat section of the fleet.
Unlike previous seasons, these sets vary in terms of VFX and detailing, and the naming scheme is less consistent. Both of the green/gold sets follow the standard VFX/detailing system and share the name “Corsair”, and the blue sets are both a compound neologism that means space pirate.
It’s unclear whether this was deliberate or not, but I get the impression that the artist might have just gotten understandably mixed up about which file they were working on. I’ll elaborate on this when you see the pictures.
Armor Sets from the Rewards Track
There are 2 armor sets available from the PvP Season 6 rewards track. Both have the word “Corsair” in the name.
Cosmic Corsair (no VFX, LVs 1-16)
Corsair’s Radiance (yes VFX, LVs 18-30)
Armor Sets from the PvP Seasons Vendor
There are 2 armor sets available for purchase from the Evocii for 6 PvP Tokens each until PvP Season 6 ends, at which point they will move into Giradda’s non-rotating stock. The Astromarauder armor set is a bit different from normal, so we’ll go through that as well.
Cosmoraider (no VFX)
Astromarauder (yes VFX)
The detailing on the Astromarauder set is more elaborate than the other three and has a slightly different design. You can see what I mean below when comparing the Cosmic Radiance and Astromarauder sets side-by-side.
The Astromarauder set has a yellow VFX outline on the coat and none on the boots, whereas the Cosmic Radiance set has no VFX outline on the coat but a bit of VFX on the toes of the boots. The yellow line everywhere else is replaced with dyeable indigo VFX.
The Astromarauder Boots do not follow convention either. They lack the (slightly different) yellow VFX notches present on the toes of the Cosmic Radiance set.
If they were the same shade, the VFX might look better, but with what we have now, the Cosmoraider/Cosmic Corsair Boots look cleaner and match the lack of outline on the Astromarauder Gauntlets.
The helmets are really all over the place and have mixed detailing. The Astromarauder helmet has the most ornate design but has undyable gold on the cheeks and a triangle on the top. Its colors primary and secondary colors are also inverted, creating contrast on the back.
Overall, I think the best combination with Astromarauder as the base alongside the Cosmic Radiance Helmet and Cosmic Corsair/Cosmoraider Boots. They pair best with reds, purples, and pale blues. In other words, colors that match the yellow and brown.
Finally, I want to note that the Cosmoraider and Cosmic Corsair sets are identical, save for starting out with a different dye. The only reason you’d want to buy the Cosmoraider set is if you missed out on PvP Season 6, so if you’re playing right now, you’ll only need to spend 6 PvP Seasons Tokens to get everything.
Decorations
There are 6 Decorations. You can purchase single copies of the 2 real decos from the PvP Seasons Vendor for 2 PvP Seasons Tokens each, and then you get 5 copies of the 4 of the trophy-type decos available on the track. Maybe they’ll be worth something someday, like Beanie Babies.
Titles and a Text Emote
There are 3 Titles available: 2 as part of the Reward Track and 1 from Achievements. There’s also a text-only emote. Here’s what and when you get them:
- Legacy Title: Pirates of Pirates (achievement)
- Legacy Title: Privateer (LV 6)
- Character Title: Pirate Hunter LV 21)
- Text Emote: “Arr” (LV 25)
Battle Flag Toys
You can purchase Red and Blue Battle Flag toys for PvP Season 6 from the Evocii that cost 2 PvP Seasons Tokens each.
