Best Vegan Eggnog (5 Minute Recipe) (1)

Christmas and New Year’s is approaching and it wouldn’t be complete without Eggnog! Am I right? and my vegan eggnog recipe kicks butt on the dairy version! If you love eggnog this is a must make recipe!

It's just the right thickness and not too sweet and easily spiked for a holiday treat! You’ll be blown away how good it is! Says me and everyone else who’s tried it!

What is vegan eggnog made of?

Vegan Eggnogis a plant based alternative to traditional eggnog which is made with dairy milk and eggs. My recipe is prepared with whole food ingredients: coconut milk, oat milk, dates for sweetness and to thicken, maple syrup, warm spices like cinnamon and nutmeg, vanilla and a pinch of salt- that’s it and it’s delicious with coconut whipped cream for kiddos or with a shot of booze- rum, brandy or bourbon for the grownups. Perfect holiday beverage for the whole family!

My husband loves his rum and eggnog so he’s an excellent judge! He was blown away by how good my homemade vegan eggnog tasted and was super pleased he could have more than one without feeling sick from so much heavy cream, eggs and sugar!

And if you’ve tried brands like silk, so delicious, or califia farms eggnog, this is so much tastier and budget friendly- no expensive raw cashews needed!

I guarantee you’ll adore this eggnog recipe. And it's ridiculous how quick and easy it is to whip up! It’s already mid December- let's do this!

FAQs

What is vegan eggnog made of? ›

Eggnog is a rich, seasonal beverage traditionally made with eggs, milk, sugar, nutmeg, and bourbon. Our version, however, is a little different. It's made with a blend of creamy dairy-free milks — we love cashew, almond, and coconut.

What can I substitute for heavy cream in eggnog? ›

You can make a similar heavy cream alternative using regular milk and butter. Whole milk has a fat percentage of around 3.5% and is preferable to lower-fat varieties, but you'll still want to use more melted butter than you would with half-and-half. For best results, try mixing ⅔ cup of whole milk with ⅓ cup butter.

Choose The Right Spirit

While brandy is the most traditional alcohol to pair with eggnog, according to traditional recipes, you can also use a mixture of dark rum and Cognac. If you like your eggnog with more of a kick you can also add bourbon, but we recommend sticking to rum and Cognac to preserve the 'nog's flavors.
